My earliest memory of Aunt Flora is when I was 4 or 5 years old, and she took me to the movie theatre to see Disney’s 101 Dalmatians. What an impression it made as we shared in the magic on the screen. Aunt Flora loved the movies. I remember in the early 1960’s when she rented a color tv for the night just so the family could watch a broadcast of The Wizard of Oz in all its technicolor glory. Every one of our home movies was a production written, filmed, and directed by Aunt Flora. Complete with costumes and sets that she created, the movies always starred her nephews with an occasional bit part played by Grandpa and Grandma. Aunt Flora loved her family and along with all her academic accomplishments, she never lost the ability to see the world through a child’s eye. May she rest in peace.
