I worked with Marty many years ago at the NRC. He was my first supervisor and one of my mentors. I remember his dry sense of humor and his wide breadth of knowledge. We used to have many lunchtime discussions with Ron Paul and others---mostly politically incorrect by today's standards--but covering everything from current inspection issues to the economics of post world war II Europe. I remember the many fun times we had meeting at his place after work for burgers, beer and pickleball. I also remember the most important lesson he ever taught me: "What we do is critical, but not important." We should do our best at our jobs, but always remember that we are not the last line, and that's it's ok to have a life. Marty I've gone far in my career and done many interesting things, but I still miss those days with you, Ron, John and the rest of the old HP bunch.
Fair winds and sunny weather boss!
