Obituary of Anthony Joseph Milas
Sergeant First Class, Anthony J. Milas, 82 passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family at his Parkland, WA home on June 29, 2021. Anthony was a decorated veteran who served in the Vietnam War, he spent 12 years in the Marine Core and 12 years in the Army for a total of 24 years serving his country.
Anthony was born on May 6, 1939 in Dudley, Massachusetts to his parents Anthony and Mary Milas.
Anthony retired from the military in 1980 at Hunter Army Airfield in Savanna, Georgia. After retiring from the military Anthony moved his family to Tacoma, Washington.
After moving to Tacoma Anthony started working at the United States Postal Service. He worked as mail carrier for 22 years.
When he wasn’t working, Anthony had a passion for collecting baseball cards, rare coins and stamps. Anthony also enjoyed spending time outdoors either by working in his yard or camping by the beach with his family.
Anthony was predeceased by his parents Anthony Joseph Milas, Sr. and Mary Ann Milas and his late wife Ayako Iizuka Milas. He is survived by his current wife Insoo Milas, son Anthony “Tony” J. Milas, Jr., son John J. Milas wife Jessica Milas – children Candis, Brian and Leslie, grandson Keith (Candis), son Joseph Milas wife Dorothy Milas – children Josephina and Joseph Jr, granddaughter Jaylyn (Josephina), son Robert P. Milas and daughter Mary Ann Milas – children Tashala, Adan III and Reyna, grandson Christopher (Tashala
