Obituary of James Glenn Roe

After a long illness, on June 16, 2021, Jim Roe (James G. Roe) died peacefully at Madigan Army Hospital.  He was born April 5, 1950, in Hornell, NY to Glenn and Dehlia Roe.  He lived most of his adult life in Washington State, the last 2 years being in the DuPont area.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Patricia Roe.  He has 2 sons James (Adelle) Roe of San Diego, CA, and Michael (Lenore) Roe of Fayetteville, NC.  He also has six grandchildren – William, Elizabeth, Joshua, Daniel, Michael, and Nicholas.  Siblings include – Carolyn Bennett, Richard Roe, Janice Moulder, and John Roe. 

Jim spent a significant time as a signal maintainer on the railroad, mostly with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.  He was especially proud to be a part of the US Army having served in Viet Nam as an active-duty Soldier, he retired after several years as a reservist in the Army Corp of Engineers.  He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the VFW.  He served several years as the Chaplin of the Mount Vernon American Legion Post.

Service to God was important to Jim, he was a longtime member of his local church.  Services are pending at the Olympia American Legion Post 94.
