With great sadness, I come to celebrate the life of my friend, Charlotte Wyner. Charlotte was taken away from us too soon, and it hard to understand why and how such a thing could happen. However, today isn’t the day when we comprehend why we lost Charlotte. No. Today is the day on which we celebrate Charlotte’s life. On this day, we should focus on recounting the remarkable things Charlotte did in her life and how her life impacted us.
Charlotte was a brilliant, thoughtful, and compassionate individual. Her empowering and uplifting character meant that whenever you were distressed and needed someone to confide and seek comfort with, she would always be there for you and impart with you inspiration and healing. Her youthful and glowing attitude towards life meant that she commanded a motivational presence that was playful yet understatedly wise.
It grieves all of us to see such a person pass away at such an early age. I cannot form the words to describe the immense loss that I feel in my heart and being. The theologian William Barclay said, “When I die, I should like to slip out of the room without fuss – for what matters is not what I am leaving, but where I am going.” Charlotte knew what mattered in life, and she has left us to remember what matters after her passing.
