Obituary of Ned Rufus Hutchinson

Ned Hutchinson was born November 1, 1950 as a fraternal twin and youngest son to Booker T. & Corine Hutchinson. He was born and raised in Brownwood, Tx. There he attended and graduated from public school. He went on to serve in the United States Army and from there he began to travel. Anyone who knows Ned would know that he was an introverted man of mystery and he only let you know what he wanted to be known about him. It is known that he resided in Houston, Tx and in the mid 80's; he would make Washington his home.

A mischievous young man he was known to go as far as breaking things to get out of doing his chores; then lightning fast running as far as he could when it was time to get his lashing as well. A man of true character yet filled with mystery. We know there was so much more than met the eye, however we don’t have the insight. His is one whose story is like gathering pieces of a puzzle from all over the world because it was just that private.

Although Ned estranged himself from the family, every time he came around we had a great time. It was like we never skipped a beat. We simply picked right up and enjoyed every moment we had with him. He’d always promise he’d be back the next year, and though those years were far, few and in between - we were always happy to just see him alive and healthy. Everytime he came back around those that were children would have their own children. It had to be something for him to see life evolve in such a manner; yet at the same time endearing to have remained a relevant and a part of the clan.

On May 7, 2021 one of his siblings would receive that frightful call from Washington letting her know that their brother Ned was found deceased. No matter the situation, no one ever wants to receive that frightful call. The death of a loved one is never easy and it doesn’t matter if they are estranged or the head. The fact remains that the love that is shared in the flesh has come to an end. The visits that were too far and in between can’t be looked forward to anymore. Only the unwanted sorrow of longing and not knowing.

His family loved him and he was always included even when he was not present. It is our sincere hope that he knew no matter what we stood for and with him. It is our prayer that Ned transitioned peacefully into eternal rest. Known as the “one who is always missing” amongst the siblings - he will now be missed.

Ned was preceded in death by his Mother Corine Hutchinson, his Father Booker T. Hutchinson and his brother Leonard James Hutchinson.

Ned is survived by 2 children - Latoya P Moore & Jacob Ryan Van Dyke. 3 GrandSons - Matthew Donovan Moore, Miles Lemard Moore and Sevan Stone Van Dyke. One GrandDaughter - Maurelle Armon Moore. His 2 brothers - Booker T. Hutchinson, Jr. & Robert Earl Hutchinson. Four Sisters - Annis Walker, Hazel Dudley, Bernice Hutchinson and his twin NaiDean Hutchinson-O’Dour.
