Obituary of Rodolfo Dichoso Simbre

With heavy hearts, we said goodbye to Rodolfo (Rudy) Simbre, the afternoon of April 22, 2021. He passed peacefully in the presence of the St. Clare Hospital nurses and his family on Zoom.

Rudy was born in Quezon City, Manila Philippines, and raised in a big family of 9 siblings with him being the youngest. In 1991, he immigrated to Lakewood, Washington to join the rest of his siblings. He was a driven and hardworking employee who dedicated 22 years to working at the Emerald Queen Casino. After his retirement, he continued to work for half a year in Chips Casino.

Rudy was a well-known shopper and was the happiest in shopping centers and outlets. He lived his best life dining in his favorite local restaurants, seafood buffets, or family barbeques and picnics. He loved going on long drives and listening to his favorite artists including the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, the Eagles, Bread, Bee Gees, and Michael Jackson. He was a “human GPS” and had the talent of locating new places without any assistance. He will surely be remembered for his witty sense of humor and corny but spontaneous jokes. His laugh alone can make the whole room laugh with him. He made birthdays and holidays, particularly Christmas, New Year's Eve, and Easter Sundays so enjoyable and amusing for the whole family. Rudy was genuinely a caring and generous person and never hesitated to help others in any way he could.

Rudy is survived by his wife, daughter, sister, nieces, grandnieces, and nephews. He will be dearly missed by many.
