Obituary of Louis Mayo Raphael

On a bright morning in his favorite seat, after sharing coffee and the TNT with Carol, his wife of 30 years, Louis leaned back for a nap and never woke up.  Born in St. Louis, he arrived in Tacoma with his family by train in 1930.  Shortstop for Lincoln High from 1942-45, graduate of UPS and early editor of Weyerhaeuser Magazine, his favorite job was as an editor for the TNT.  An avid fisherman, he wrote a book recalling his boyhood summers on American Lake.  He enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals, and watched them win the night before he passed.  He goes to join his mother and brothers Jack and Paul, and is survived by his wife Carol, his sister Peggy, his nephew Dave, and a large assortment of younger relatives.  His great-grandchildren will especially miss his sticks of gum, but they are glad that now he gets to play baseball again.  He went just like he wanted to, and per his request there will be no official memorial service.  He was a lucky guy.
