Obituary of Victoria E Helmholz

Victoria (Vicki) Helmholz was born to Stanley and Jean Helmholz at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma, WA. on October 25, 1939. She passed away peacefully at the same hospital, with her children beside her, on Friday, April 16, 2021 due to complications of COPD.

Vicki was preceded in death by her father and mother, elder brother Cleman and her son Jay. She is survived by her remaining loving children Brian (Laurie), Peggy (Carl), Traci (Marshall), son-by-another-mother Preston, sister Sara (Donny) and brother Steven (Lydia). She was a cherished grandmother to 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Vicki grew up surrounded by extended family of multiple generations in Puyallup, WA, when it was still a small town, and graduated from Puyallup High School in 1957. She grew up a proud “Tomboy”; loving to spend her younger years playing baseball and fishing with her father and brother. She also learned to cook, bake, sew, knit, crochet, and can fruits and vegetables under the direction of her mother, grandmother, and grandfather. These skills would serve her well as she went on to become a military wife and mother and she passed these skills on to her own children. As a military wife, she was blessed to have traveled our country and several others with her family in tow.

Vicki remained exceptionally close with her children and most of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout her adult life. She was not only our mother/grandmother, but for many of us, our very best friend and confidante.

We feel her loss intensely and will guard her memory safely in our hearts, sharing her stories and keeping her close, always.

We love you Mama.

Forever, Your family.
