Obituary of Artie Naomi Wells

Artie Naomi Wells, 83 of Lakewood, Washington passed away peacefully April 3, 2021 with her family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Artie was born November 5, 1937 in Merrill, Oregon to Naomi and Jerry Micka.  She was a graduate of Malin High School and attended college in Fort Collins, Colorado where she met the love of her life, husband Virgil R. Wells.   They were married for 58 loving years.  Virgil passed away in 2016.

Artie is survived by her three daughters and their spouses: Donna Hippensteal (Paul Hippensteal), Debbie Weller (Ivan Weller) and Terri Hutson (Ralph Hutson).  She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren with two more on the way.  Artie has five surviving siblings: Norma Carimack of Fairgrove, Missouri, Carol Kolkow of Malin, Oregon, Karen Lindsay of University Place Washington, Becky Micka, and brother Jerry Micka of Enterprise, Oregon.

Artie was the oldest of 7 children.  She was born and raised on a farm and enjoyed helping her father work in the fields.  She loved being outdoors.  Artie like to spend her past-time reading, gardening, cooking and spending time with her beloved family members. 

Artie had many friends and enjoyed doing weekly activities with them.  She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.   Artie will be in our hearts and memories forever.
