Obituary of Marchalakia-Tyrea Terrina Johnson

Marchalakia’ TyRea (Merci) Johnson, age 19, of Tacoma, WA passed away suddenly after a head on collision accident involving a DUI street racer, she sustained multiple blunt force trauma injuries. Her family is shocked and deeply saddened by her loss.

Marchalakia’ TyRea was born on March 17th, 2001 to Carmen Vazquez’Adams & Raymond Johnson in Cleveland, OH. After graduating from Mt. Tahoma High School in 2019, where she joined the Tiny House Club, Community in Service and Change, and the YearBook Committee.

During her time at Mt. Tahoma, Marchalakia’TyRea was also employed at Burger King and quickly took on the role of manager. She loved reading, writing, singing, and spending time in nature while hanging out with her family & friends. She was a bright and kind individual who always went out of her way to help others, and someone that everyone loved.

Marchalakia’TyRea wanted to build a Tiny House Community for homeless families, that included complete wraparound services to help those families in need receive a helping hand getting back on their feet.

Marchalakia’TyRea met Christian Zepeda while working at Burger King. They enjoyed going to the dog park, walks at night, watching Netflix, going for coffee in the morning, just any time they had together they enjoyed to the fullest and spending time with their loved ones & friends along with their pets Styxx the dog and Rambo and Duchess, their cats.

Anyone who knew Marchalakia’TyRea, knew that she was loving, kind, and respectful. She had an immense passion for life and was always a source of positivity. Her family and friends will miss her more than words can say.

She is survived by her mother Carmen Vazquez’Adams, father Raymond Johnson, 2 brothers Orlando Roulette & William Jones, 5 sisters Rayonna Johnson, Jacara Johnson, Sam Adams, Dashania Adams, and Raven Adams. Along with her extended family which includes her grandparents Elizabeth Rey’Vazquez, Obdee Wilson, and Charlene Johnson. Aunts Leila Gilliam, LeVette Locke’Gilliam, Malaika Reid’James, Reyetta Osman, Rinetta Johnson, Lisa Colter, and Lynette Colter. Her surviving uncles include Elijah Brown and Francis Gillaim

There will be a memorial service held at 11am March 17th at Edwards Memorial and Funeral Home in Lakewood, WA, with her birthday party to take place at Steilacoom Park
