Obituary of Carol Lee Chiamulon

Carol Lee Chiamulon Shuttleworth

October 28, 1946 - November 16, 2020

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Carol Lee Chiamulon Shuttleworth. The beloved wife of Mark Shuttleworth. Much loved mother of Hollywood Ann Elliott and Gary James Horst (Barbra Lynn Horst). Cherished grandmother of Danny Horst (Nayeli Horst), Ashley Ann Elliott, Christian James Horst, and Jordan Robert Horst. Adored great grandmother to Adrian Joseph Arrellano. Loving Sister to Christine Wilce Chiamulon and Rodney James Chiamulon

Carol began her life in Tacoma, Washington, on October 28, 1946. In 1977 her love for interior design led her to open Narrows Bridge Furniture, an interior design company. Shortly after, she moved to San Francisco, California, and in the late ’80s to Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, she worked as a Sales Executive in the Aerospace industry. In 2001 she returned to Washington, where she retired with her husband, Mark Shuttleworth, and her furry babies, Winston, Emily Ann, Diesel, Fenimore, Rosebud, Rosie, and Annabelle.

The spirit of Christmas is the spirit of love, generosity, and goodness. Carol was the epitome of Christmas. She lived her life full of love; love for her family and those in need. A day wouldn’t go by without Carol spreading love. Her generosity knew no bounds. Whether it was at a restaurant where she secretly paid for a family’s meal or donations she gave to the battered women's shelter, she always found a way to help those in need. As a mother, she made sure to teach her kids the importance of giving. Her son Gary recalls Carol taking him shopping, buying Christmas trees with all the trimmings and presents that took the whole week to wrap, and taking them to their local nursing home. As a grandmother, she taught her grandkids, or as she liked to call them, her lovebugs, the importance of generosity. Reminding them that giving to those in need was always more important than receiving. Every year she would “adopt” a family and buy them gifts, food, and clothing. She was always active in helping serve her community by volunteering at local community outreach programs. Carol also passed on her love for Jesus reminding her lovebugs to always pray and to talk to God.

When we think of Carol, we think of Christmas. Her love for giving transcended the holiday spirit. In honor of Carol, let every day be Christmas.
