Obituary of Marlin Talmadge Scisum

 

Marlin was born 11/13/1968 in Toledo, Ohio to Patricia Scisum (Walton) and Dewitt Scisum. Marlin was a native of Tacoma, Washington, but he traveled the world. Marlin worked at Ihop, volunteered at MDC Drug Treatment, and was a fixture at Kay's Kitchen (Puyallup Fair) for 17 years. Marlin attended TCC where he earned his Associates Degree in Applied Sciences (Human Services). Marlin later went on to Evergreen College where he graduated and earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree. 

Marlin enjoyed writing, pool, golf, traveling and listening to music. He also enjoyed helping people with resumes, cover letters, writing academic papers and references. Marlin had a passion for politics, and he was an avid community advocate for people and his family. Marlin is preceded in death by his father Dewitt Scisum. Marlin is survived by Patricia Walton (mother), Timothy Scisum (brother), Eric Scisum (brother), Todd, Anna Andersen (sister), Kashia & Philip Garcia (sister), and Brittney Scisum (daughter), Cousin Kenny and nieces Solaya, Sahilah, Timika, and Noelani and six great nephews Ahmeeko, Malano, Timitri, Taishon, Hans and Chris. Marlins life was a true testament of the power of the human spirit. Marlin overcame struggles and was a legacy. Marlin was loved by many and will be missed dearly. 

 

Public viewing will be held from 1-2PM.
