Obituary of James R McLeish
James McLeish Sr. passed on October 28th 2020, after losing his battle with cancer. He kept fighting until he could no longer and is at peace. Born December 30th, 1950 in Tacoma, Wa. He was a hard-working and wise man. He was tough yet kind, could be quick triggered but thoughtful, followed his own path and respected standards, the ultimate Jack of all trades while being focused and grounded.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rosalyn; Mother; Joan Wells; 4 brothers; Sons Jimmy (Dana) McLeish; Bryan McLeish; daughter Tina (Dustin) LeGrand and 5 grandchildren.
He was a self-starter, a person motivated by challenges. While he sometimes made his own rules, he believed any problem is meant to be solved. With his driven outlook and focus he put himself through flight school; while working a full-time job. Mastering his craft he clocked countless hours flying, chasing the clouds in the day then the moon and stars at night.
He lived a life full of accomplishments enshrined in hard work and sacrifice. Some examples include building his race car, Showdown, designing and building an airplane, becoming a machinist, an entrepreneur, starting his own shop, and raising a family along the way.
A dreamer he lived a life few of us would dare to explore; however, exploration was the dream to him. He loved to hunt, fish, and camp, go on day trips and the outdoors in general. He seemed to be at home soaring above the mountains and saying hello to the heavens. As we go on we are forced to look into the void and hope he is looking down on us. Rest in peace James. Keep watch over us, as we keep you in our hearts and minds; until we meet again...
