Obituary of Thomas Bruce Weston

Thomas Bruce Weston March 21, 1952 to September 30, 2020

Tom was born in Kalispell, Montana in 1952. He grew up in the Kalispell and Libby areas of Montana where most of his extended family lived. Tom, like his father, was in the electrical field and his father’s work took them to several areas in the northwest part of the United States during his adolescent years. Tom graduated from Mark Morris High School, Longview, WA. He was a competitive swimmer and competed throughout his high school years. He attended Flathead Community College, Kalispell, Montana, University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, CO and University of Montana, Missoula, MT. His passion for pottery started early and continued alongside his 30+ year career as an Electrician retiring from Local #46, Seattle, WA in 2007. Tom’s hobbies also included motorcycles and competitive go-kart racing.

Tom was a devoted husband and father to his wife, Colleen and son Forrest. They made their home in Auburn, Washington for 32 years and moved to Sequim, WA upon Colleen’s retirement in 2017. He continued his love for pottery volunteering at Peninsula Community College in Port Angeles, WA and was accepted as a member of the Blue Whole Gallery, Sequim, WA where his beautiful work was displayed. One of Tom’s favorite quotes “Man is more than just a hunk of mud that sat up and took notice”. Tom continued his passion for working with clay and artistic ability while he and Colleen wintered in Arizona. Tom and Colleen thoroughly enjoyed the last 3 retired years together exploring the Olympic Peninsula to the warm sunshine of the Arizona desert. Tom loved the heat of Arizona and bicycling, Bocce ball and the fellowship of his new friends in Apache Junction, AZ.

Tom was known for his kind and quiet demeanor. He was a great listener and proud parent supporting his son during his childhood sports and would toss the baseball for hours. He loved sharing his gardening skills and mechanical skills as well. His patience and understanding always stood out brightly.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife and partner of 34 years, Colleen (Ward) Weston and his son Forrest Weston. In addition he is survived by his mother Melba Colleen Weston. He was preceded in death by his father Edwin Blake Weston Sr. He leaves behind his siblings, Edwin B. Weston and Cindy (Ray) Hanna along with 1 aunt, cousins, nephews and nieces and loving extended family members.

We will miss his warm smile, sense of humor and day to day presence in our lives. He will further be remembered fondly by his humble wisdom and advise- “Feed the Good Wolf”. The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life in his honor sometime in the future.
