Obituary of Lloyd L. Stippich

Lloyd LaVern Stippich was born 4/27/53 in Aberdeen SD to Donald L Stippich and Margaret (Stippich) Johnson.  He attended school in Aberdeen, graduating from Central High School in 1971.  After graduation he moved briefly to Phoenix, AZ with a final move to the Pacific Northwest with his longtime friend of over 60 yrs., Ron Crow; where he resided until his long battle with cancer ended.

Lloyd was an active member of The Moose Lodge of Auburn as well as keeping busy bowling and playing on dart leagues.  He also enjoyed singing karaoke, especially Elvis Presley music of which he obtained quite a collection of music, books, and miscellaneous items.  Lloyd also enjoyed collecting movies, vinal records, antique items, as well as memorabilia from his favorite local sports teams; the Seattle Mariners, Seahawks, and the UW Huskies; he loved his sports, cowboy boots and leather jackets.  Lloyd enjoyed his time with his grandchildren sharing his great sense of humor as well as time with family and friends where you could catch him at the barbeque cooking up a storm.  He enjoyed all holidays, especially the 4th of July setting off fireworks; like any kid.  Lloyd loved gardening, cooking and canning his bounty into his famous spaghetti sauce and salsa (the spicier the better).

Lloyd is survived by three daughters, Brianna Holmes, Kent WA; Rachel Hanson and Rebecca King, both of Renton WA, as well as five siblings; Brian K Johnson, Ella (Tom) Sutton and Vickie Hoerner of Aberdeen SD, Leonard Stippich and Susan Tofflemire of Tacoma WA; 5 grandchildren (Hamilton, Ariana, Nevaeh, Elijah & Honor), 7 nieces, 7 nephews, and 11 great-nieces & nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald L Stippich, Margaret L & Floyd A Johnson Jr, his maternal and paternal grandparents, two brothers Wyatt & Roger Johnson, and a niece.   A very special thank you to Jeannette for taking excellent care of Lloyd during his long battle with cancer.

Memorials can be made in Lloyd’s name to either:  UW Cancer Research in Renton or Hospice of Kent.
