Myra was a good friend who graciously helped mentor me in genealogy over many years. I got to know her through many genealogy experiences and was always impressed by her competence and her willingness to reach out and help others. I remember chatting with her years ago as part of the Tacoma Pierce County Genealogy Society's train trip adventure to Salt Lake City. And I will never forget the genealogy conference where she introduced me to "The Purple Petunia Society" (poking good-natured fun at some of the genealogical pretentiousness that occasionally emerges.) I was always impressed when I heard her speak at meetings. I also enjoyed sitting in at a meeting of her memoir-writing group. And my wife (Margie) and I cherish memories of a couple of get-togethers with Myra and Leo. Our condolences to you and your family, Leo. May you all cherish good memories of Myra - who indeed was a very special person - whom I regard as a good friend. God bless you.
I didn't know grandma De very well, but I immensely enjoyed seeing her funny posts on Facebook. She was gracious enough to chart my family tree before I spent a year in Scotland back in 2014 and I cherish the family history that her work brought to me. My mom always said that grandma De was an amazing step-mom to her. She will be missed.
