Obituary of Jerry Bollen

Jerry Bollen, Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend.  Born on January 11th, 1935 in Yakima, Washington, and passed away on May 30th, 2020 in Tacoma, Washington.

Dad celebrated his 85th Birthday with family and friends in January 2020.  He was an only child, born to Orville and Erma Bollen and grew up in the Wenas Valley near Selah, Washington.  Besides his parents, he had two favorite Aunts, Reva and Edith, who were a large influence with him going to college at the University of Washington where he received a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering.  His Degree and work ethic led him to a variety of jobs with the Washington State Department of Ecology, where he was the Assistant Director before leaving to further his career with Weyerhaeuser Company as NW Environmental Manager for the Company, until retirement.

Jerry was married to Bobbi Bollen for over 65 years.  He is survived by his wife, Bobbi, sons Jeff(Sherrill) and Mike(Josie), six Grandchildren, Michelle(Gabe), Nicole(Andy), Danielle(Christopher), Megean(Justin), Jennifer(Adam), Christopher, and fourteen Great Grandchildren, and an infant Great Granddaughter, Addison, who proceeded him in death.

Over the years, Jerry has enjoyed camping, crabbing, fishing, traveling, and was a licensed private pilot in an airplane he co-owned with his long time friend.  His greatest joys were his family and the happy times where the house was filled with many generations at Puget Island, Washington.  Over the years, Jerry and Bobbi traveled the world with many friends and loved the adventure and sights.

The family sends a heartfelt thanks to everyone who sent cards and flowers.  He will be missed by many, but not more than his family who loved him with all of their hearts.
