Obituary of Anna Marie Whitford

Anna Marie Whitford 12/30/67- 4/4/20

Anna Marie (Rodriguez) Whitford passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2020 at the age of 52 in Tacoma, Washington. Anna was born to Albert and Mary Rodriguez in Tacoma on December 30, 1967. She is survived by her husband James “Jim”, son Jordan (Emily) Whitford, as well as her parents, siblings Martin (Susan) Rodriguez and Melinda (David) Rose in addition to her beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family in Texas. Anna was predeceased by her in-laws David and Phyllis Whitford.

Anna lived in Tacoma all of her life and graduated from Wilson High School in 1986. She later went in to study interior design and graduated with an associates degree in interior design from Clover Park in 2018. Anna undoubtedly had an eye for design, but her main passion was her family. Anna met Jim in June 1988 and were married November 2, 1996. Together they shared a wonderful life raising Jordan; discussing politics, current events, and music (Elton John, The Beatles and George Michael were favorites of Anna’s); and attended every sports game or performance for their son, nieces, and nephews. Anna believed the world of her loved ones and was the loudest and proudest cheerleader at any event.

Anna loved her family with all of her heart and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild due in June. Anna was truly an amazing woman and we are all going to miss her very deeply.

Arrangements are still being made, but the family is currently planning a celebration of life in October. More information will be available within the coming months.
