Annie Marie Cruz

Obituary of Annie Marie Q Cruz

Annie Marie Q. Cruz, a devoted Wife & Mother, wonderful baker, and Senior Tax Specialist took her last breath unexpectedly on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at the age of 63.

Annie was born on January 17th, 1957 in Agana, Guam to Mariano L.G. (deceased) and Maria T. Quinata. She loved her parents and siblings. After graduating from Sunnyvale High in California, she went on to study at DeAnza College from 1976 to1979 and earned her Child Development Degree.

She married Jose C. Cruz in 1983 and together they raised their daughter, Ha'ani Marie C. Edwards. Annie & Jose traveled to numerous places around the world through Jose’s career in the Air Force. After 20 years in the service, the family decided they will call Washington State home. Annie prepared taxes seasonally for 36 years in both Guam and Washington State. Baking is a well-known passion of Annie’s. Annie and her mother would bake religiously together during her childhood, planting the seed of passion to bake.  Annie then shared her passion and joy of baking at various life events in the Pacific Northwest. She spent her best time with family and friends, especially her son Jack Markley and her adoring two grandchildren Jarrod Edwards Jr. and Jadis Malamania Edwards.

Annie’s family and Catholic faith meant everything to her. Annie and Jose were dedicated parishioners at Our Lady Queen of Heaven for over 20 years. She and Jose devoted their time to singing for families’ and loved ones in their time of need. There wasn’t anything Annie wouldn’t do for someone, even if they were too proud to ask; heart is as big as the Pacific Ocean. She will forever be known as a beautiful soul, “Annie the Baker”. She will be missed deeply by her Husband Jose C. Cruz, Daughter Ha’ani Marie C. Edwards, two Son’s Jack Markley and Jarrod Edwards, Grandchildren Ashlei Markley, Ka’lani Markley, Allison Markley, Kalin Her, Jarrod Edwards JR., and Jadis Edwards. Mother Maria T. Quinata, Father Mariano L. G. Quinata (deceased), siblings Mariano L. G. Quinata JR, John J. Quinata, Anthony P. Quinata (deceased), numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and all who knew her.
