Obituary of Molly I Watson

Molly, Mom, was born in Yakima, WA and raised in Moxee City. She was the youngest girl of 6 children, 4 older sisters and her baby brother. At around 16, she moved to Olympia, WA to live with her older sister, Iris. She finished high school there. She later moved to Tacoma, WA where she met Charles Gerald Collier, AKA Jerry. They married and had 2 children, son, Daniel Dale and daughter Carrie Lynn. Mom stated that she never stopped Loving my father, they just couldn't live together but always maintained a harmonious relationship afterwards. Mom entered the world of banking. She was a lifelong teller starting at the Bank of California, then to Puget Sound Bank and finishing her career with retiring from Key Bank. After retirement she went back to work with Key doing bank statements at the operations center. At the age of 75, she retired AGAIN! Something she really enjoyed was her monthly luncheons with her friends from the bank.

In her life she traveled to New York City, alone, San Francisco, which she thoroughly loved, Nome, Alaska, where her brother and sister in law lived and then a cruise around Hawaii.

Mom loved Little House on the Prairie! And in the last months of her life she shared watching that show with the many people who came to visit her. Her and my, favorite movie was "Fried Green Tomatoes". We laughed, then cried and then laughed again! Mom was intelligent. She enjoyed Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and doing the New York Times crossword puzzle. Mom enjoyed going to the Grand Cinema, where she was a member. She liked the lighter hearted movies, ones with a meaning. Mom didn't need alot in life to be happy. Simpler was better.

Last April, my mother suffered a horrific assault. Amazingly, she survived, where some of us wouldn't have. Ironically, because of this attack a lot of lives were changed. For the good. I cannot explain it all, but because of this, I call my Mother a HERO. My Mother died a HERO! And I told her this.

Mom had 2 last wishes. The 1st was to die at home. I worked hard to get us here and she fought hard to stay alive to make it here. We both succeeded. Her 2nd request was to drive across the newly rebuilt Puyallup river bridge. So, on Jan. 1st, 2020, that is exactly what we did! It was a BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL SUNNY DAY!!! With the help of Tom at the care facility and my best friend Debra, we got it done and Molly thoroughly enjoyed that!

Mom was preceded in death by her parents Emil and May Ubelaker, sisters, Shirley Dunn, Frances Ubelaker, Patricia Sliger and little brother Jack Ubelaker, son Daniel Collier Sr, great granddaughter Sy'Diah Collier and Jerry Collier, the father of her children.

She is survived by her daughter Carrie Lynn, sister Iris Penn, grandsons Daniel Collier Jr and Clifford Collier, great granddaughter Shelby (Daniel) and great grandson Clyde (Clifford) and many nieces and nephews and friends and her church family.

A celebration of Life will be held at Grace Community Church 8243 S Park Ave, Tacoma, Wa, where she attended for the past 4 years, on Jan. 25th, @ 1:00 pm.

Mom passed away in her home of 55 years. Quietly, peacefully and without pain, with her daughter Carrie in attendance. It was her last wish. Mom said to me in December, "Don't be sad Carrie, I've had a good life."

I would like to thank the people at ManorCare for taking good care of my Mom, with special thanks to Tom, her best CNA. She was in a good place before I could get her home. I would also like to thank Franciscan Hospice for helping me and Mom get though this difficult time.

There's a new world somewhere they call the Promised Land
And I'll be there someday if you will hold my hand
I still need you there beside me no matter what I do
For I know I'll never find another you

There is always someone to reach across they say
And you'll be my someone forever and today
I could search the whole world over until my life is through
But I know I'll never find another you

It's a long long journey so stay by my side
When I'll walk through the storm you'll be my guide be my guide
If they gave me a fortune my pleasure would be small
I could lose it all tomorrow and never mind at all

But if I should lose your love dear I don't know what I'd do
For I know I'll never find another you

But if I should lose your love dear I don't know what I'd do
For I know I'll never find another you another you another you
