Obituary of Sharlene Ann Walker

Sharlene Ann (Preszler) Walker

December 11, 1937-December 24, 2019

Sharlene (Preszler) Walker passed away peacefully at home on Christmas Eve, 2019 after a two-year battle with cancer. Her children and grandchildren were by her side.

Born in Eureka, South Dakota, she was the first of four daughters born to Leonard and Florence Preszler. After moving to Tacoma as a child, she attended Concordia Lutheran School and later graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1956.

Sharlene loved her children, family and friends without abandon. Her passion was her garden which was admired by all passers-by. She was a long-time active member of Mt. Cross Lutheran Church in University Place. Sharlene had many hobbies and was involved in many groups; she loved antique hunting, Bridge, Bunco, attending live stage performances and her book club. She cherished her three sisters and many friends, and the times they spent together.

Sharlene will be remembered for her positive outlook on life and for her unconditional love and caring for others. She continually gave of herself and was always available to lend a hand or just listen.

She is survived by her children Tracey (Scott) Burnfield, Scott (Lynae) Walker and Janna (James Watts) Walker, her grandchildren Spencer , Josie, Nicole, Kaitlyn and Lexi, her first great-granddaughter, and her sisters, Wanda Boyd, Lila Gilbertson and Wilma Baxter. She was preceded in death by her parents, whom she was looking forward to seeing in Heaven!

A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Friday, February 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Cross Lutheran Church 8902 40th St. W, University Place, WA 98466

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the compassionate care provided to their mother by Hospice and her Oncology Team and the loving support from her friends and family.
