Obituary of Maria Magdalena Connors

Maria Magdalena Connors (Biber)

3/18/1953 – 12/26/2019

On December 26, 2019 at 8:45 a.m. the morning after Christmas, Maria Connors left this world to be with Jesus and lost loved ones. Born to Richard (Dick) Biber & Idell (Tiny) Biber (Roemer). Maria was a lifelong resident of Tacoma Washington and graduated at Mount Tahoma HS. Growing up she formed a special bond with cousins Steve, Madeline and Crystal. Along with cementing lifelong friendships with Susan and Kathy. At a BBQ she met “the love of her life” Steven to whom she married and stood by “through hell or high water” for 42 years. Together they raised, with love 3 sons Christopher, Timothy and Matthew. Maria proudly worked in retail for over 20 years. 10 years at Target and 10 years at Bargain World. Because of her deep profound connection with her spirituality she collected angels, that can be found decorated throughout the house. Maria was known for her sense of humor, quick wit, feistiness, being a loyal wife, a loving mother and a dear friend. Maria was happiest gracing her favorite retreats at Joemma Beach on the peninsula and Pearrygin Lake in Winthrop where she felt serenity with nature by day. And joy, sitting around the campfire with family and friends at night. Maria loved taking long walks. She was also passionate of other simple pleasures, such as gazing at Pacific Northwest sunsets and admiring snow-covered Mt. Rainier and Cascade Mountains. Maria felt genuinely blessed to live here, her entire life.

She is preceded in death by parents Dick and Tiny Biber, her brother Bobby Biber and sister Becky Swanson (Biber). Which, in life she deeply missed with a heavy heart. Maria leaves behind her husband Steven Connors, her three sons “also the loves of her life” Christopher, (spouse Loren), Timothy and Matthew Connors. And Her first and only grand daughter Lyla, whom she never had a chance to meet. She also leaves behind lifelong “treasured” friends Susan Lemke (Cathcart) and Kathy Hammond (Green), along with whom she considered “sisters”, her cousins Madeline Imhoff (Biber) and Krystal Andrews (Biber). And, many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends. And finally, her “special companion and saving grace”, her cat Gracie. All of us will carry the memory of Maria (Mom) in our hearts and soul. She will be truly missed.

A special thanks to Madeline Imhoff, Kathy Hammond and Susan Lemke for all the love and support through these difficult few months. And many thanks to Multi Care health systems, Hospice, Catholic Community Services, and Pierce County Human Resources.

A memorial service will be held at the VFW Hall at 4741 N Baltimore St, Tacoma, WA 98407 on January 26th, 2020 at 1:30pm.
