De-Anna Sharp

Obituary of De-Anna Sharp

De-Anna “De” Sharp, 80, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 30, 2019 in her home surrounded by family. De was born on October 20, 1939 in Greeley, Iowa. De spent most of her childhood in Iowa but moved to California with her parents. Shortly thereafter her younger sister, Ginny, was born. De attended La Habra High School and graduated in the first graduating class in 1957. She and her first husband had 3 beautiful children; Candi, Cindi and Charlie. De also looked out for her young sister and took her into her family after their parents passed away. The family lived in many different cities and states as the children grew and eventually settled in Las Vegas in the 70’s.

After arriving in Las Vegas, she worked in a doctor’s office as an assistant and eventually worked her way up to office manager. She worked for the same doctor for over 35 years before retirement. De loved the people she worked with and continued to be friends with many of them until her death, as she considered them family.

In 1984, De met the love of her life, Butch. They married in 1987 and shared a lifetime of love and laughter. De and Butch were perfect for each other. They loved to watch the news together, try different restaurants, ride their ATV’s, or just go for a drive. One of De’s favorite things to do was to attend our annual family/friends’ reunion in Duck Creek, Utah.

De and Butch sacrificed much of their lives for their children and grandchildren. Even though she and Butch’s kids were grown and out of the house, their roles as parents did not end with their children. De & Butch selflessly raised their four grandchildren. De always made sure the kids came first and were never without. She loved her grandchildren very much. Even into adulthood, De would always pick up the phone, encourage them and give them words of wisdom to help each of them through life’s difficulties. De was their mother, their hero, their strength & their rock.

De was an amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Our family is devastated by her loss. She always put others ahead of herself in life. De lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures: spending time with her husband, pampering her two rescued Pomeranians, shopping, working, and most importantly spending time with her family. De was an incredible woman and mother who inspired everyone around her. To the end, De continued to show her incredible strength as that is the woman she was. Her memory will live on in all our hearts forever. She was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile and her kind and compassionate spirit.

De is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence (Pete) and Lorna Kuhlman, and her son, Charlie (Chuck) West. De is survived by her husband and best friend: Butch Sharp; daughters: Candi Hyde and Cindi West; sister: Ginny Linton, and husband, Ed Linton; niece: Heather Linton; nephew: Josh Linton, and wife, Cheree Linton; grandchildren: Shawn West, Indica Snyder, Patricia Snyder, and Patrick Snyder; great grandchildren: Trevon, Jayden, Gage, MaKaylah, Charlotte, Pierre, Jackson, Lila, Romeo, and Cristiano; step-daughters: Karin Williamson and Becky Gallagher; step-grandchildren: Mario, Daniel, Jenna, and Vanessa; and extended family. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 11, 2020, in Las Vegas at The Tahiti Village meeting room, 7200 S. Las Vegas Blvd. Family, friends, and others whose lives De touched are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to "olddoghaven.org". De will be remembered as a cherished wife, amazing mother, selfless grandmother, and loving sister. She had an admirable strength that taught us all great strength. All who loved her will never forget her tenacity, love, grace and underlying love and caring of them. De’s legacy will live on in all of us whose life she touched.
