Obituary of Glenda Ann Pemberton

Glenda Ann Pemberton left us unexpectedly on Tuesday October 1st, 2019. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandma and friend anyone could ask for. She was born on December 9th, 1949 in Wichita Kansas to EK Page and Dorothy Page. She grew up in Kansas and Colorado and later moved to Yakima, where her mother married John Williams. She attended and graduated from Eisenhower High School, class of 1967. She married Del Farris that same year and they welcomed a son, Stephen and several years later, daughter Tiffany. Although that marriage ended, Del and Glenda remained good friends. In 1984, she met and married Don Pemberton and together, with blended family enjoyed 34 years of marriage. You would often find them at O’sullivan or Banks Lake camping and fishing or down at Wild Horse Casino having fun!

Glenda was very proud of her educational accomplishments, having graduated at the age 44 with her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Central Washington University. She worked primarily in business admin and accounting for Sonoco, Moss Adams and then retired from Tree Top after 15 years of service in 2012. She was a hard worker with strong work ethics, this trait served her well in her career.

Glenda loved adventure and was always ready to travel with friends and family. She took annual trips to visit her best friend “Niter” in California. She was especially looking forward to spending Christmas in Cabo this year with her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved bowling, playing games, gambling, scrapbooking and hanging out in good company. She was the best cook and has taught her kids and grandkids many of her specialties.

Grandma Glenda loved her grandkids, they were the light of her life. She never missed singing each of them a special jingle each birthday. There was not a sporting event, dance recital or any party that she would miss if she could avoid it. Glenda was the life of the party and loved to have people around her all the time. Our lives will never be the same without her.

Glenda is survived by her husband Donald Pemberton, children Steve (Erin) Farris, Doug Pemberton, Heidi Gray of Yakima, Daughter Tiffany (Sam) Johnston of Olympia, Don Pemberton Jr. of Anacortes, sister Judy Luberts and John Mark Williams of Bothell, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, EK Page, John and Dorothy Williams, sister Donna Palmberg and daughter Debbie Zulauf.

Please join the family in a celebration of life to be held Saturday, October 26th, 2019 at Seasons Hall in Yakima, WA at 1PM.
