Obituary of Kari Marie Newton

Kari Marie was born Starlett Marie to Carol Dorene on December 9, 1963. At the age of 16, she was adopted by Karen and Kenneth.

She was proceeded in death by her mother Carol and her son James Earl. Kari is survived by her husband Chuck and her children Brittany and Dustin, siblings Harvey, Kenneth Jr., Karl, and Kristy. Also survived by her nieces Kayla, Kaitlin, Kyleah and her nephews Cody, Ryan, and Shawn.

Ever since Kari was a teenager, she always loved kids. She worked in daycare as a teen and went into adult care as an adult. Her passion still remained Early Childhood Education. Eventually she went back to school for Childhood Development. She worked more than twenty five years as a daycare teacher while raising her own children.

Kari had a deep passion for gardening. She loved making potted arrangements that surrounded her front patio and if she could put a flower somewhere she would. She would enjoy sitting on the front patio being surrounded by her beautiful flowers. She also loved spending quality time with close friends and family. She was always happy doing things for others.

During her seven year long fight receiving treatment at Tacoma Mulitcare Cancer Center, Kari grew to know most of the staff and adored the staff who worked closely with her. Her family would like to thank the staff for their compassion and kindness to Kari.

A poem from Dustin to Mom:

Mom…
Every day is the same for me
Filled with nightmares and reverie
When I dream of you by my side
Stroking my head with a smile so wide
Sweat, palpitations and fear
Engulf me and start to creep near
Reminding me of all those days
Spent amidst your loving ways
As the night descends once more
I start shivering from my very core
For I know that it will bring
Memories that will make me wring
I miss you..
