Obituary of Dorothy Grosvenor

Born Dorothy Strugar on July 11, 1922, in Walhalla, North Dakota and passed away peacefully

August 7, 2019, in Tacoma, WA. She was the last of six children born on the farm to Peter and

Elizabeth (Kolhek) Strugar. Her family moved to Columbia Heights MN. after losing the farm

in the Depression.

Dorothy married Eugene R. Grosvenor in Minneapolis, MN. She and her children moved to

Puyallup in 1952 where her older sister Laura’s family lived. Dorothy worked for many years at

the Boeing Company.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved soul-mate Jim Garland, her parents,

brothers Ted and Al Strugar, sisters Angie Gibson, Marie Shields and Laura DeMarce, her

daughter Barbara Fries and her granddaughter Celeste Elliott. She is survived by her son

Kenneth Grosvenor of Moses Lake. Son-in-Law Kenneth Fries of Montesano. Grandsons

Larry Fries, Micheal Grosvenor and James Grosvenor of Tacoma and Cody Fries of

Montesano, Granddaughter Sara Hedland of Montesano, Great Granddaughters Corina and

Janell Fries of Tacoma, many beloved nieces, nephews, grand and great grand nieces and

nephews.
