Obituary of Diana Lee Boutwell

Diana Lee (Beshaler) Boutwell, 69, of Tacoma, WA passed away on June 20, 2019. She was born on February 20, 1950 to the late Jim and Marian Beshaler and was the first-born of a close and loving family—as the eldest, she helped care for her siblings. She was raised in the Midland area and graduated from Franklin Pierce High School in 1968. She served in the Washington Army National Guard from 1973 to 1977 and retired from Boeing in 2015. She loved music, dancing, singing karaoke—specifically Crazy by Patsy Cline—traveling to Aruba, Mexico, and Hawaii, weekly pinochle card games, and playing bingo and slots at the casino. She was kind and generous with all who knew her and always happy to lend an ear and solid advice to anyone who needed it.

She is survived by her children: Jami Boutwell and Joel Boutwell; her four adored grandsons: Austin Price, Carter Boutwell, Gavin Boutwell, and Wyatt Boutwell; aunt Lorraine (Beshaler) Peterson; siblings: Donna (Jerry) Olson, Jim (Nancy) Beshaler, Debra Beshaler, and Nancy (Jim) Beshaler-Gross; nieces: Heidi Olson, Ileana Beshaler, Marianna Brown; and nephew Eric (Telma) Olson; and great-nieces: Mikayla Olson and Madelynn Olson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 20, 2019—details will be circulated to family and friends privately. Diana’s legacy of giving continues through her generous cornea donation to restore sight to the blind.
