To the Wanamaker Family:
So very sorry about the passing of Belva recently and Harold few years ago. Will never be anything in our lives as the presence of our dear parents.
Going through old Christmas cards which my Mom, Lois, and Dad, Russell (Rusty) received from friends during their years in the military (Army Air Corps/European Theatre) and at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
My parents had fun and wonderful memories of years at UofC/Boulder.
Dad always talked about the time he was in a military truck after being rescued from Stalag Luft 1, Barth, GR when who should climb aboard but Harold (Wanamaker). Those guys really went through a lot.
My sister, brother and I almost felt like we knew Mr. and Mrs. Wanamaker.
Year or so before my Dad passed (2010), Belva and Harold called out of the blue. What a special day for my parents.
May all all of you have a happy and safe Christmas season.
Sincerely,
Linda Alcott Maples, daughter of Russell J. and Lois L. Alcott/Huntsville, AL
