Alice met the love of her life Robert (Bob) Magdanz in Parkland, Washington. They married October 7, 1957. Alongside Bob, they ran Magdanz Hometown Hardware in Parkland for 40 years.

Alice and Bob were members of the Parkland Business Club. She volunteered for the Pierce County Well Child Clinic program, was a member of Parkland Co-operative nursery school, Parkland grade school PTA and Bluebird / Camp Fire Girl Leader.

After retirement Alice worked as a census taker in 2000 and the Puyallup Fair for 15 seasons for Nielsen’s Taffy Stand. Later in life, Alice enjoyed spending time with her family and neighbors, whether it was watching golf, the Seahawks or just enjoying social hour.

Alice was a surrogate Mother to many friends. She and Bob opened up their home for their daughter’s friends and young families in need of a place to stay. Alice was also a compassionate caregiver to her dear friends throughout her life. And she loved caring for her grandchildren, human and furry alike.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Julie, Peggy, Terri and Jacqueline. Also thanks to Joanie at Harbor Lights for always brewed fresh decaf for Alice. And the family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Villa Cynthia for providing excellent and compassionate care of Alice.
