Obituary of Bruce Timothy Wright
Bruce Timothy Wright was born December 6, 1949 in Tacoma, Washington. He passed away suddenly at the age of 69 on May 22, 2019. He grew up in Tacoma WA where he met his childhood sweetheart and future wife, Marcia Anne Jensen. He attended Wilson High School and graduated in the class of 1968.
Shortly after graduating, he joined the United States Coast Guard, proudly serving his country for 4 years. He spent most of his tour stationed in the Aleutian Islands on an ice breaker. He was scuba qualified and developed a passion for the water.
On July 29, 1972, Bruce and Marcia married.
In the mid 1970's after his military service, Bruce began his lifelong career as a dental hygienist. He enjoyed working with people to educate them and always made the extra effort to help them feel comfortable.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife Marcia, his 4 daughters, Heather, Erin, Britany and Kendra, 4 son in laws, Mike, Jon, Ray, and Tony, and 12 grandchildren who were the loves of his life and brought him an abundance of of joy.
Additionally, Bruce leaves behind his mother Patricia Norlund, 3 siblings, Larry Wright, Cindy Fulton and Geri Guske and their spouses Dennis, Kathy and Tom, Bruce's brother in law and sister in law, Kirk and Debbie Jensen, and 7 nieces and nephews, as well as the Brown and Crowley families.
He also leaves behind his lifelong and dearest childhood friend, Stephen Fuson, affectionately known as Uncle Steve, his children's godparents and close friends, Dale and Alice Koger...Aunt Alice and Uncle Dale, his South Hill Dental Centre Family, and all his climbing buddies.
Bruce's enthusiasm for the outdoors, running, climbing, skiing, kayaking, the ocean and water, and immaculate yard work, filled his life with adventure and excitement. But his love for family surpassed everything...
"We'll love you forever, we'll like you for always. As long as we're living, our Papa you'll be."
Alyssa, Olivia, Glorianna, Gabriella, Audrianna, Abigail, Raelynn, Elijah, Quinton, Kieran, Graham and Brayden.
Please join us to help celebrate our "Papa, The Man, The Myth, The Legend" with a viewing on Wednesday May 29, 2019 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Edwards Memorial Lakewood and a celebration of life at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fircrest on Saturday June 1, 2019 at 1:00 PM, reception to follow.
