LUBY DON MOORE

June 8th 1953-March 5th 2019

Beloved husband and father Luby Don Moore passed away March 5th 2019. Luby, who went by Don to family and friends, was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas to father Luby Ruffin Moore and mother Goldie Pauline Sweeney. Don grew up in the Midland area of Tacoma, Washington and attended Franklin Pierce High School. He worked at the Midland Mobile Gas Station on Portland Ave which was owned and operated by his father Luby R Moore. He also worked at Manke Lumber Mill, but Don spent most of his career in the restaurant profession working at Cattin’s Family Dining in Puyallup, Washington where he spent 28 years serving his family, friends and community. Don met his wife Julie in 1977 and they were married December 31st 1978 and remained married for 40 years up until the day he passed away. Even when his wife became paralyzed at the mere age of 43 Don never left her side and performed every healthcare task you can imagine and then some. Don and Julie had one daughter, Brandy Moore, who was Don’s pride and joy. Don had been living with his daughter Brandy since 2012 where she was providing his healthcare services due to his ailing health conditions. Don also lived with his daughter’s boyfriend Braeden who also helped with Don’s healthcare needs and looked up to Don as a second father. There was also two other roommates that lived at his daughters home, Aaron and Jason. Aaron had been in Don’s life for 22 years and was also like a son to Don as Don watched Aaron grow up and was there for him in good times and bad. Jason only got the opportunity to live with Don for 6 months, but in that short time they grew very close and Jason would always check up on Don and helped him many times with his healthcare. Don is survived by his wife Julie Moore and his daughter Brandy Moore. He is also survived by his brothers Garry Moore, Bill Honey (Cindy), Jesse Moore and his sister Gail Brown (Darrell), Sister in law Brenda Loomis, Brother in law Danny Loomis (Tani) and brother in law Darren Loomis. Don also had many nieces; Sherrie, Toni, Trisha, Erica, Melissa, Amber, Stephanie, Celeste, Teresa, Brittany, Dana, and Chelsea and nephews Garry Jr, Eric, Jason, Aaron, Trenton, and Sean. Don had an outgoing personality and was able to talk to anyone and everyone as if they were long lost friends and people just gravitated towards him. Everyone who knew him loved him. He was hardworking, selfless, generous, caring, quiet and easy going. Sometimes too easy going and his kindness could be taken advantage of. Even though his job kept him on his feet for long hours every day he loved taking long walks, swimming, music, any television show that had to do with true crime. He was very handy and could fix just about anything around the house, anything that had to do with electrical household problems, plumbing problems and he was a very good painter. He had a big love of animals. He will be missed terribly by the family dogs Maddie, Ninja, Lucy and his favorite Turbo.
