Please click this link to view the video tribute: http://videos.lifetributes.com/?id=11272 Frances (Mickey) was a wonderful wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Frances was born in Seattle, grew up in Astoria/Tillamook, Oregon and lived most of her adult life in the Tacoma/Gig Harbor areas. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arthur (Lefty) and sons; Mike Dolfin, Dan Dolfin and daughters; Carole Bartenbach, Kathy Suher , Jane Ladwig along with seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Frances Grant and two brothers, Dean and Jim Grant. Mickey loved her family and friends. She enjoyed travel, fishing, golfing and bowling. She always gave to her community. Just last year at which time she was going through chemotherapy, you would find Mickey and Lefty making Christmas breakfast for the senior members of the Key Peninsula Sportsmen Club. In past years she was joyfully helping to plan and set-up a Hawaiian Luau at the Fox Island Yacht Club and during her snow-birding years, decorating a golf cart with Christmas lights and decorations. She started a holiday tradition in Yuma Arizona’s Cocopow Resort. During World War II, Frances was training to be a nurse in the U.S. navy when the war ended. She spent most of her early adult life a full time homemaker and mother. During the later 60’s and into the early 70’s managed a cafeteria food chain. Beginning in 1974, she enjoyed retirement with Lefty. You could always find Mickey reading the daily paper and keeping up with current events. Frances recently received recognition from the State of Washington for 60 years of voting exemplifying her outstanding patriotism. Mickey fought breast cancer twice, uterine cancer over a ten year period and in the last year lung cancer. She is a true hero to her family and friends. She fought hard to live life to its fullest even unto death. Mickey was surrounded by family and friends in her last days to which we are all so very thankful. She passed peacefully in her sleep. There will be a Memorial Service in her honor, held by the family on Saturday, September 15th at the Key Peninsula Sportsmen Club, 3503 Jackson Lake Road, Lakebay, WA 2-5 p.m. Please join her family to tribute a great women and friend.
