Obituary of Raymond Nathan Spearman

Raymond N. Spearman, of Federal Way, WA, was 94 when he passed away on January 8th, at the Franciscan Hospice in University Place. Ray was a gentle loving husband and a dear father. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jeanne and his children, Grant, Gretchen & Steve Porter, Sonny Spearman, Stacy & Rick Combs, his 5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters, and 2 great grandsons. Ray was born on the prairie near Crawford Nebraska in 1913. His parents, Grant & Pearl (Broadhurst) Spearman, and his siblings, Rupert Spearman & Josephine (Spearman) Fernau preceded him in death. He will be remembered for being a kind friend, and gentle soul who loved to travel and spend time with his family. He retired from Property Management in 1986 and traveled seasonally to Yuma Arizona for nearly 18 years, always returning home to the Pacific Northwest. Where ever he traveled, he made friends and left a lasting impression. He is loved and will be missed. The family will have a celebration of his life later this year and his remains will be cremated.
