Dear Jann and family, thank you so much for such a personal and loving celebration of Bob's giving life. Jann, the Christmas tree story is so perfect and showed what a thoughtful, caring man he was. Bill, your story about his inspiration to get you through college was wonderful. Kristin, the photos were so fun to see and the fishing and traveling you were able to share with him and relate to us was so heartfelt. Even Gerry's failed driver's test story warmed us all. I don' t know how you each found the strength to be such wonderful speakers during such a difficult time. You, too, were an inspiration and I know Bob is so proud of each of you. And, Jann, to be able to sing two days later at the Rotary Holiday party was incredible. Whew! I will miss Bob at our Rotary Boys and Girl's club mtgs. He was a great leader and contributor. My best to you all during this journey without him.

Beautiful service, Jann. Thank you for filling me in a while back. I haven't seen much of you two since the boat left for the East Coast in 2000 but you and Bob have been in my thoughts frequently since then.

Jann: What a tribute the memorial service was to BOB! We will miss him and his tenacity on the court. We are sorry that we could not extend our personal condolences to you at the service, but you were being mobbed by all your loving friends. Hang in there and keep your chin up--Laurie and Stew

Jann, the service for Bob today was a loving tribute to him as a man, husband, father and friend. Your whole family did a great job of talking about Bob's love for life. My business relationship with Bob, I always enjoyed , he was a real gentleman and a fun man to be around. I didnt realize until today that we both grew up in San Francisco, I lived 10 miles from his high school. Bob will be missed but he enjoyed life like no other and now he is with the Lord....

Dean Jann and Curley family, We were so moved by your beautiful memorial service for Bob! We loved all the gorgeous photos of the entire family at every stage of life. (There are no more photogenic couples than the two of you.) Such wonderful tributes to a life well lived, full of love and family. We haven't heard Walt Wagner in years (since Sun Valley ages ago) and Sue Nixon's voice was incredible! Every tribute was an act of courage; and each added to the many dimensions of Bob's personality. We wish we had known the scope of his medical drama earlier; but, clearly you had no lack of support throughout your ordeal. Our love to you all. Thank you for the gift of this final farewell to a very special person. Bobbie & Cam DeVore

Beautiful service today. Sorry I did not get a chance to talk to you personally. I fondly remember serving on the Family Services Board with Bob -- he brought the perfect combination of business acumen and compassion/respect for all clients. How fitting that a playground will be named for him!

Jann and family, Thanks for the terrific service. Bob would have loved it. My contacts with Bob were from both Rotary and 101 along with a love of rowing. Bob recruited me for the fund raising team for the Rotary/Family Service Center project and I couldn't say no to him. Mike

Jann and family: Your memorial service was a remarkable tribute to Bob, and I'm inspired by his accomplishments and life, as well as your strength and composure to share it at a very difficult time. I first met Bob in 1978 when he an his partners at Brownfield & Associates acquired Modern Supply. He and I were business partners there from 1984-1996. He WAS tenacious and competitive, and I always regailed in my rare moments of 'gotcha', with him. I remember a trip to Nootka Sound where he seemed to reel in more dogfish than anything else, much to his displeasure. Later, I'll always remember the intercom call I took from him ..... 'Heh, heh, very funny' as he had sat down in his office and eventually looked up to notice a new item decorating his wall. As soon as we had returned to Seattle I had assembled a plaque (cabinet door) with a rubber dogfish attached, and honored Bob as the inscribed 1st recipient of the soon to be 'Annual Dogfish Award'. We shared a lot of laughes through the years.
