Obituary of James Patrick O'Neill

To view Jim's video tribute online visit http://videos.lifetributes.com/?id=2209 Jim was born on October 23, 1942 in Tacoma, WA and passed away on January 7, 2006 at Franciscan Hospice House. He said he was “Going home to Ireland” (a place he always dreamed of visiting). Jim graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960 and LaSalle Airline School in 1961. He had a 42 year career with the airlines in reservations, and then passenger and cargo sales. The last ten years he was self employed transporting cargo all over the world for Air Canada, American Airlines, Sun Country, etc. Jim developed many friendships throughout his life. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and generosity to others. Jim loved old cars, animals, bowling, traveling, meeting new people, and taking cruises with his wife, Karen. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 36 years, Karen; mother (Helen); brother and wife (Larry and Sue), nephew (Larry), and many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins in WA and Iowa. He is preceded in death by his father, James Edward, and brother, Lyle. A special thanks to Luci and staff at Bethel House and the staff at Franciscan Hospice for the loving care they provided. No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Franciscan Hospice, P. O. Box 1502 , Tacoma, WA 98401-1502.
