Obituary of Shirley Yvonne Wilson

Shirley Yvonne Wilson, 75, of University Place, died peacefully in her home under the care of her family on February 27, 2006. A memorial service will be held 2PM Saturday, March 4th, 2006 at Life Center Chapel (18th and Union), Tacoma, WA. A private interment will be held before the memorial service at Tahoma National Cemetery. Shirley was born on February 5, 1931, in Marble, Colorado, the daughter of Reverend Ray and Rose Murphy. She married John M. Wilson on August 30, 1952, in Toppenish. She was a lifetime member of the Assemblies of God. After raising her children, Shirley returned to school to study Early Childhood Education, eventually becoming the director of Shepherd’s Fold Childcare Center and the owner/director of Little Footsteps Childcare Center. Shirley is survived by her husband of 53 years; son, John R. Wilson and wife Ann of Kennewick; daughter, Cynthia Wilson and husband Thomas Glover of Decatur, IL; grandchildren David Wilson Spokane, WA; Amanda Wilson of Kennewick; Nathaniel James of London, England; Krystle Barr and husband David of Decatur, IL; great-grandson Seth Barr of Decatur; three brothers and three sisters.
