Page 3. I remember planting >>trees in Topanga, Calif. where they over-looked the nudist colony. >>There are so many memories like eating at the table with Bert and >>his wonderful, sense of humor. Laughing. With him one could >>relax, if he liked you, that was it. I really hope Susanna's >>boys will have fond memories, even though the teenage years are >>most difficult. Hope George goes on and really makes something of >>himself, he is so talented. What with games and tv, these days >>children are so different than when I grew up. I am now 59 yrs. >>old. I knew Bert almost all my life. >> I feel that he fufilled his lessons on earth and now can >>relax. I am looking forward to it too. I get tired. So I will >>not be sad, but will look forward to seeing this great human being >>when I pass over. I expect him to be there to welcome me. You >>should expect that too. >> With much love and affection to all the family and friends >>of Bert Hock.

Page 2.>> I was in Tibet when he passed so quickly. It was the first >>time, in my life, I was completely out of touch with anyone. Even >>my own children for 3 weeks. I received notice through both >>Kathryn and Renay, when I returned to China, I am personally glad >>for all involved it was not a long drawn out thing. It makes him >>and those left behind suffer so much more. The loss is enough in >>and of itself. >> I regret, I never got to the boat in vancover Island. But I >>treasure the quiet night with him and Susanna over the last five >>years. >> I have a wonderful picture of Bert, in Lenedo, Colorado, when >>I was pregnant with Naia 31 years ago. It is so sad, in a way, >>the passing of really good freinds. If we had a good relationship >>with them, we really miss them. Thoughts of Bert will be with me >>for the rest of my life. The good news is I believe I will see >>him after I too pass. Smiling at me, tipping one of his special >>beers. He liked his beer, so what,so do I.

>> I remember Bert from the time I was in my 20's. He laughed alot. I mean really a lot. He had a lot of children when I met >>him, but he sure was great to my girl Renay, who I am particularly >>fond of after lliving with her when she was 2.. Along came Bert >>then Marie, Chris and Nick. He really liked young people, as he >>was really young at heart. He liked cars and Boats and always >>managed to have interesting ones. he was a bundle of energy as >>even in his old days he worked a lot. I was privleged to visit >>him and Susanna in their home and will always treasure the last >>days with him. I think I visited them in gig Harbor 3 times. I >>found quite an efinity with his new wife and enjoyed her company >>enormously. Bert was nothing but kind to me over the years, >>although Ido remember a time in Montana when he chewed me out for >>not being subservient enough to my husband at the time Richard. >>He visited there and in Colorado, so even though the years past, >>thanks to the children, we managed to stay in contact. Thank >>goodness. He had a rare soulful quality of always seeming like he >>was happy. In the latter days it really did seem like he was >>very happy. He was in good straights with kathryn's and Susanna's >>kids and life was mellow for him. What a surprise! Page 1

I have sent an e-mail to Anne-Marie with few words that I would appreciate Nick to say during the funeral. I must said that I would wish to come and say good bye to Bert who was for me the most interesting Man I came across ! 'Bert was just the opposite of being a quite Man. Always in a mood for a new Challenge he would convinced any one to join him..From the first day I met Bert some thirty-five years ago and since then we had together built up few success stories which would have never came up without him. As the years passed I saw him jumping from one Project to another with the same energy and the same Juvenility always firing with the same Enthousiasm. When his son Nick came in his life I was requested on the double to became its GodFather which I accepted as a big honour. As time flies we didnt see each other so often but I never stayed without being informed of another new deveplopment in his life and of course this was as always unexpected. I surely will miss Bert and remember him as Man of Character Courage with loyalty to its Friends.God Bless him .' Kindest regards Jacques

I send all my sympathy to all those who loved Bert. I met him when I was 14 and he taught me the english language. He did so well that now I have an English partner and both my children Chris and Alex speak english as well as french. What he gave me was transmitted to the next generation. I had planned to visit Bert again when my young kids would have grown a bit and would have been happy to see them meet and speak Bert's language. I will speak about Bert to them. I already have. We all say 'au revoir Bert' and we also say hello to all the people he has gathered around him, which are numerous ! Anne-Marie

I will remember you as a very creative man who loved living outside the proverbial box. Whether it was Florida, California, Canada or Mexico; whether it was working at Scientific Data Systems, owning a manufacturing company, selling Mexican blankets or driving a bus; whether it was Mary Lou, Kathryn, Suzanne or Susana, no one can deny that you led a life rich with experiences; perhaps the only thing that we take with us when we leave the earthly plane. You were always ready for an adventure or a new car; I can remember 15 different vehicles we owned over a 12 year period, and I didnt count the motorcyles! Speaking of being creative, I want to acknowledge all the children, Denise, Karen, Timothy, Renay, Marie, Chris, Nick, Daniel, Alex and George. May you all remember something of your father that will bring you joy, as it will bring him joy. Love to you all, Kathryn

Cuz; From our times together, Fox Island (your were 14 and I was 10) again in the 1960's and 1970's. Canada until your move to Mexico and recently with your move to Gig Harbor, our lives have been not only interwoven in family, but mostly in friendship. You will be missed! but never forgotten. Thank you for the times we have shared. Your cousin Jon
