Obituary of Arlo Aslak Lauvrak

After a courageous battle with cancer, Arlo passed away in his home with his family by his side on March 29th, 2006. Born in Tacoma on October 30, 1937. He attended Stadium High School. From Adams Peanut Plant to Sam’s Tire to General Beer and Western Beer, Arlo became lifelong friends with his bosses and colleagues. This is a tribute to Arlo, what he contributed and to the kind of person he was. The words that people used to describe Arlo are honest, hard working, full of integrity, kind, fair and fun. He was loved by so many. He is survived by many friends and relatives including Ruth, his loving wife of 50 years, his children, Debbie Hestand, Bruce (Shelly) Lauvrak, Carolyn (Craig) Russell, Jani (Dick) Lauvark Lee, his brother Bruce (Dee) Lauvrak and sister Marie (Ron) Smith, his grandchildren who were the light of his life (Erika, Troy, Jessica, Cameron, Callie, Kevin, Emma, Ally) his best friend Jim (Diana) Crawford as well as the hundreds of people who loved and adored him and whose lives he greatly touched. The family wishes to thank Dr. Baker and his staff and Franciscan Hospice for their incredible love and care. We will always remember and be thankful for the loving care and devotion given to Arlo by Bruce and Troy Lauvrak, Jim Crawford and their wives. We hope his friends, family and the many people whose lives he touched will join us for a celebration of his life at 3:00pm on Wednesday, April 19th at the Pioneer Park Pavilion located at 330 South Meridian, Puyallup, WA 98371. Condolences may be left online at www.edwardsmemorial.com. In lieu flowers, the family suggests memorials in Arlos memory be made to Franciscan Hospice 2901 Bridgeport Way W.
