I was so sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Stocker. I am a good college friend of Laura's and even though I am in my 40's, somehow he will always be Mr. Stocker to me. The first time I met him, he seemed bigger than life. He was always smiling and had that great hardy laugh. I spent so many weekends at the Stocker's home in Puyallup and up at Lummi. Those weekends are some of the foundest memories of my life. He was always joking and teasing us. We would always meet to tailgate with him before each Husky game. After I got married he always invited my husband. Flosi to every homecoming game. Like Mr. Stocker my husband had also lettered four years at a sport at the University of Washington. At half-time they would have all these athletes come down to the field to be recognized. After graduating it is very hard to get tickets to a football game and Mr. Stocker was so kind to take my husband, who otherwise would not have had a chance to go. My husband, Flosi, and Mr. Stocker had a special bond through the years. Sorry, this is so long but there are endless things I could say about Mr. Stocker. Thank you for all the wonderful times Mr. Stocker and I look forward to some more good laughs when we meet again. Love, Kristn and Flosi Sigurdsson

Sorry to read about your dad. (I believe my parents did the Daffodillian thing too....they probably knew each other.)I was back there in town for 2 weeks and just left on the 15th. So, I will have to send my love and condolences electronically. The world spins way too fast. May God's Love & happy memories bring you peace & comfort during this sad time. With big hugs, jeannie

On behalf of the WWU Women's Rowing Team, I would like to extend our condolences. Our squad would not be here today if Al hadn't started the program back in the sixties. Even though he started the men's team, the women soon followed and is now one of the greatest programs in the history of Western Athletics John Fuchs, Head Coach, WWU '88
