Anne Ruddell

Obituary of Anne Marie Ruddell

Anne Marie Ruddell was born 9/27/25 in Akron, Ohio. She was the youngest of 4 children born to Mike and Martha Stepanovich. Anne's parents emigrated to the United States from Dalmatia, which was then a part of the Austrian Empire. When the family emigrated, they left one daughter in Europe which was always considered a terrible loss. When Anne was quite young her parents died. The three younger children were placed in foster care. As the children matured, they left foster care and went their separate ways. She found her brother several years ago. He died a few years after they were reunited. About once a year we would visit Mildred, her older sister, she still lived in Ohio. She married Louis (Luke} Anderson in 1958. He died in 1969. They had 2 children, Duane, who lives in California and Mikki who passed away in 2004. Dia, their adopted daughter, passed away in 2005. Anne worked for United Airlines for 18 plus years. She later worked at the Ruth Dykman Home for about 5 years. Anne married Clyde Ruddell in 1/31/1976 who brought 4 children into the family. She was very happy when the Emerald Queen Casino opened, no more long trips to Reno. Anne was devoted to her family and the care of her children. She loved her home and tried to create a safe haven for everyone. The family recalls her wonderful cooking, her sense of humor, her finesse at Pinochle and her lucky streaks at the casino. A Celebration of her Life will be held at the Sunrise United Methodist Church 8/2/08. A picnic-potluck follows at their home at 2203 SW 342 St. Arrangements by Edwards Memorial Center 253-566-1008
