I was very sorry to hear that Alice was leaving us but she has taken a journey that we all have to take someday. In her memory, please, please be ready. Let's all be ready to be greeted by her when we cross over into eternal life and into the waiting arms of our Heavenly Father. I have visited Tacoma only once and oh what a memory I have of Alice there. She had such a giving spirit. During our personal time together, after visiting in her home, she took me to her favorite Chinese restaurant. We ate and laughed so much. She watched everything around her and she had comments on most of it. She loved to share her wisdom. I loved to hear her talk. I am so glad that I got an opportunity to share that personal time with her and I will always cherish the memories. Family, be sure of where your eternity lies and let's all prepare to rejoice with her and our Savior, Jesus Christ who has prepared a place for her and for us if we will accept it. Best Blessings and Peace I pray in your behalf and mine. I love you all. Ann

Alice really loved her family. She gave so much of herself to those she loved. Honor her memory by telling her story to the next generation. Follow the lead of her grandmother, Rosa Jackson Lumpkin. She told us wonderful stories about our family from as far back as the late 1800's. Our stories bridge our hearts and our love to the past and the future. Give our children the gift of knowing about Alice's love, beauty, generosity and strength.

Alice was a wonderful Aunt and a friend to me in many ways. Whenever she had problems, she would call me in her secret voice and tell me to come over. I never knew what to expect but I did know that I had a role in Alice's life (as many of us did) and it was my job to remain in that lifetime position that she put me in. My role was as her legal advisor, confidant, business planner, financier, house painter/decorator, and a trustworthy niece. She always made me feel special and I was very glad that she shared her cancer with me. I was very proud of her when we went to get her PIP test and she just sat there as they inserted her IV without complaining. It was odd to see her quiet but she was. I learned that privacy was very important to her and she died knowing that our talks were safe with me. Alice let me know that she ws very happy with me marrying Timothy Ghee...my childhood friend. I remember when she would take me to Skate King to see him and she would let me borrow her car to take Reenie, Jamie, and Tracy places. She always made sure we had transportation. She taught me to drive when I was 12 years old. She was always taking care of everyone. Alice I will miss you and look forward to seeing you in the after life. Vee

Alice was very special to me in many ways. As I mourn the loss of such a wonderful Aunt, I cannot help but reflect on the good times. Alice made my life easy. Whenever I was upset and called Alice, she would say 'now Reenie don't say that' She had a special place in my heart and a special way of saying just the right thing at just the right time. I cherish the times that I spent with my Aunt while I was growing up. I am so glad that she took the time to teach me how to stand up for myself and what I believed in. Because of her.....I make the best sweet potato pie, incredible fried chicken, and we don't even want to talk about hot water cornbread.....In her final days Alice was still looking out for everyone. She was a rock and we all knew exactly where we stood with Alice. I thank her so much for always 'Keeping it Real!!' I love you Alice.
