Obituary of Zachary Edward Stewart

“Deus teneo meus pectus pectoris” “God Knows my heart” Zachary Stewart was born on March 6, 1978 in Christian County, Kentucky to Ralph and Lib Stewart. Zach and his family lived several places before making Tacoma their permanent home. He graduated from Wilson High School where he met so many of his closest friends. Zach had the enjoyment of scoring a few touchdowns for the Rams. He was also a gifted swimmer and had a beautiful butterfly stroke. Zach was a strong guy and could lift incredible weight. After high school Zach went on to attend Bates Technical College where he graduated in the HVAC program. He was a good student once he found his niche. Zach began working at Narrows Heating and thoroughly enjoyed his job. He may have had struggles before but began to master his craft and was beginning to enjoy success. Zach was a great guy who loved his family and friends very much. He admired his father very much and resembled him more than he knew. He was fortunate to have a mother who loved him very much. Zach and Lib had a special bond and enjoyed spending time together. He possessed a unique wit that so many of us adored. With Zach’s funny and charming wit, it was easy for anyone to crack a smile or have a good laugh. He was intelligent, thoughtful and kind. Zach enjoyed life in his own way, at his own pace. Some of Zach’s favorite pastimes were going to the movies, preferably Star Wars. He loved to be with his friends, enjoying the good times. On the night he left, he spent the evening with good friends and was with his family. He was safe and seemed content. He will be missed forever but not forgotten. He was an incredible son. He never had the opportunity to be a father but would have made good one. He will live on by helping others through the Zach Stewart Foundation. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Bates Technical College Foundation, The Zach Stewart Scholarship Fund. Zachary is survived by his parents Ralph and Elizabeth Stewart; grandparents, Mo and Robert Kirby of San Antonio, TX; aunt and uncle, Randall and Jeanine Stewart; cousins, Mary Kate and Carmen of Reno, NV; and many dear friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, July 21st, 2007 at 1:00 pm; University Place Presbyterian Church, 8101 27th Street W, University Place. 253-564-2522. www.uppc.org
