Obituary of Robert James Hillage

Robert “Bob” Hillage of Spanaway, WA went to be with our Lord on Monday, December 22, at 3:45 am. Bob was born July 21, 1951 in Rome, NY, son of Fred and Elsie Williams Hillage. He attended Whitesboro schools and achieved his GED. On February 16, 1969, he married Elizabeth P. Doat, daughter of Leslie and Leona Doat of Richfield Springs , NY . Together they raised four children. Surviving Bob are his wife, Elizabeth, and the four children: Crys Thompson (Spanaway, WA), Kim Hillage (University Place, WA), Robert Hillage, Jr. (Spanaway, WA), and David (Stacie) Hillage (Florence, AZ). Also surviving Bob are four grand-children: Josh , Jordan and Jennah Thompson ( Spanaway , WA ), and Dominique Mamea ( University Place, WA ). Bob also leaves a brother, Bill Hillage (MD),=2 0and two sisters, Shirley Dozois (NY) and Helen Hillage (FL), and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Lester Hillage and Fred Hillage, Jr. Bob grew up in upstate NY and relocated to WA in January 1979. He worked at Commencement Bay Corrugated (CBC) for 28 years, working his way up from machinist to Administrator of Shipping. He enjoyed his work and was a major contributor to the company’s work force. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, sports and nature. He was an avid fan of the Seattle sports teams. Bob will be remembered for his love of life and humor (laughter), his devotion to Elvis, his knowled ge of old movies and radio shows. Bob enjoyed sharing extraordinary but true experiences from his youth. TCB Donations in his memory may be made to Cancer Research.
