I recently learned of Dons passing. My condolences to his family. Don and I worked at Pacific Telephone as PBX Installers in San Jose during the 70s. We car pooled together to work during one of the original gas shortages and often helped each other with our jobs. I knew he loved the Gig Harbor area and I was sorry to see him leave California. We lost our connection, and while telling my installers recently about one of the jobs we did together, decided to research him and came across his obit. I had hoped to visit Gig Harbor again and talk with him about work, cars and motorcycles and maybe meet for a cup of coffee. I remember his advice, after telling the story of crashing on his drag motorcycle, that The throttle turns both ways. Ive heeded that often. Im sorry I waited too long to contact him.

Don worked with my husband Ed for a few years. It was a part time job for Don and full time for Ed. They had alot of fun together and enjoyed drinking a few beers. We even tried to match make him with my dear best friend. So glad that it did not work. Jan came into his life and was an anwsere to a prayer. While they lived down here in the bay area we shared so many happy times. Jan and I were PG at the same time. Jan with Becky, when he was told that he would never be able to have children. I know that God blessed their lifes together. Don was a special person to me, his gruff ways but always so tender in his heart. What a loss for everyone! Jan will try and call you later but all my love and support goes out to you. Kaye

Becky, I was saddened to hear that your father had passed. Mom called me tonight to let me know and pass this link along. I'm sorry that I haven't been in touch since we spoke last...sometimes it's easy to let life's busyness get in the way of just reaching out. I just wanted to let you know that I will be thinking of you and your family at this difficult time. I would welcome hearing from you, if you are interested. Hug from an old friend - Brenda

Dear family, I worked with Don many years ago as a time clerk and then later as a management dispatcher etc. Don was one of the nicest men who worked for dear old PNB. After the breakup I ended up with US West and retired in 1990. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time of loss.
