Obituary of Loretta Arnold

Born in Parkston, SD in the early 1900’s, she was a long-time resident of Tacoma, Washington. Loretta is survived by her daughter Sandra, grandchildren Brian and Lisa, and five great grandchildren Justin, Brandon, Jeffrey, Marissa and Bryce. Loretta was married in 1937 to Rummy, and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, compliments of the U.S. Navy. Rummy passed away in the mid sixties, and Loretta spent her time doting on her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Family was very important to her and she lived for the next visit. She was a very special lady, who had a heart of gold and selective hearing. There are some very special memories that we all have of her and we hope you have experienced at least one of them: reconciling her check book, locking the house doors and closing all of the window’s regardless of the temperature or time of day, Yankee candles can only be burned for 20 minutes at a time, the Golden Girl’s marathons, and where’s my cane my purse my handicapped placard and my Kleenex. May you all enjoy your Jiffy corn bread cookies, Strawberry Angel Food Cake and Great Grandma’s special bread! Her memory was always sharp as she remembered everyone’s birthday and anniversary with a card, five dollars, or M&M’s. It is important to acknowledge her connection to extended family members, and the role they played in making her years alone happy ones. She loved everyone, and will be missed by all.
