Schommer family, I am sorry to hear about the loss of Dennis. He was a special member in your family, and I am sure he will be missed greatly. I pray for you and your family that the God of all Comfort will be with you, as spoken of in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. I pray that God will help you grieve, but that he will also restore your hope for future peace. I am thankful for having met Dennis, and I know that he enjoyed the life that he had with Donna, and the family. I pray for God's special blessing during this time. Sincerely, Dave Faires

Denny was one of the kindest individuals I have ever known. He cared about others and was always available to those who needed him. He was dedicated to teaching and coaching and admired by those who knew him. I became acquainted with Denny early in his career when he began in West Chicago, Illinois. He possessed high morals and strong character and loved the Church. His life on earth may have been cut short, but his legacy will withstand. He will be missed.

I am fortunate to have been able to share in many of life's experiences with Denny over the past twenty-three years. I first met him at Southwest High School where we both taught and coached. Our love of sports was a very strong bond and he proved to be a tough competitor. He was a very good friend and had a very positive impact on my life. He will be missed but fondly remembered.

I remember Denny as the older cousin into baseball, with the cool riding lawn mower and the great climbing tree in his front yard! I remember his smile, his friendly demeanor, and that he was bigger than me so I better behave! Though I wish I had known him better, others who did know him always said he was the best! God has welcomed you at home plate with open arms. May He bless and comfort Aunt Katie and Cousin Donna, as well as all the families. Take care cousin. Love, Cousin Charlie Ohms and Family (Maureen, Charles, Margaret, Jennifer, and Robert)

From childhood, I have fond memories of Cousin Denny, who I always admired. I cherish my visit with him and Donna earlier this year. His spunk and positive attitude will surely be missed. I love ya Denny!! Denny, Donna and Aunt Katie are certainly in my thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Denny, played golf, doubled dated with him, drank beer, talked baseball, life, religion, conservative politics, airplanes, ate and argued as to which of us had the better lies about how good we were. Denny was one of my best friends. I love him and I will miss him something awful. God Bless yoou Denny.

Robert and I will remember him for taking us to the Beisbol practice here in Tucson, first time for Robert, he still has the cap that uncle Den gave him. And I remember how he praised my lasagna dish. Altough we didn't have the opportunity to share as much as we had liked, we will feel the space and the lost. Iris and Family

We went to grade school at Transfiguration in Wauconda together as well as Wauconda High School. He was a good student and all around nice guy. It's hard to believe but the good they do die young. I've thought of him over the years and wondered where he was and what he was doing. Cool that he was a teacher and coach. I'm sure he was great at both. One more to add to the prayer list. Sorry about your loss (his family)

I was Dennis' classmate at Wauconda High School, Class of 1964. We played baseball together. I was looking for him to attend our 50th reunion. I will pass the information of his passing onto his classmates. He is fondly remmbered.
