To the family of Cheryl. I send you my prayers and condolences. Although you do not know me, I wanted you to know what a difference Cheryl made in my life as Matriarch of our online YSC support group. She supported me and prayed for me. There is a void in our group that will never be filled. I am heartbroken and deeply saddened by your loss. How wonderful it must have been to have such an amazing woman in your life. We are honoring Cheryl on our Board by re starting the Prayer List that she used to lead. You are at the top of that list. My deepest sympathies. Tracy Baker (Mum2abi)

Although Cheryl and I never 'met', her faith inspired me. She wrote the most beautiful prayers, including everyone, and really tailored them to each person's specific situation. She spent so much time on all of us creating words for us to communicate with God. I can only attempt to have the kind of faith that she did. She is missed, and I cannot imagine the sorrow her family must feel. May God's grace help you through this time.

I was saddened to read about Cheryl in the New Tribune this morning. Cheryl and I were classmates at Lincoln High School graduating in 1979. My thoughts and prayers are with her husband Rudy, her children, grandchildren, her father and her siblings. May Cheryl's soul rest in peace.

You were a truest sister. Find peace now my love; you fought so hard for us all. Now watch us fight with the same tenacity. We will all meet someday....

We grew to love Cheryl and Rudy through our many years at Casa Garcia. I was so delighted to find them at the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life in Stadium Bowl a few years ago -- and then saddened to find Cheryl walking in the Survivors' Lap. She fought an amazing fight -- an inspiration to many. She will not be forgotten, but we will miss her so much.

I met Cheryl through the YSC online support group. Her prayers brought me such comfort when I was feeling my lowest during treatments. I will miss her loving voice on the YSC board, as I know others will miss her loving voice in person. I am blessed to have known her, even if only for a very short time.

Days later it still seems impossible that Cheryl has left us and I don't know how to begin to tell her friends and family how sorry I am for their loss. Cheryl has been such an inspiration to me and many others in the YSC community and was always there to help guide the newcomers as they began their BC journey. We are so much better for having known her and appreciate that her family shared her with us. Her wisdom, strength and inner peace tought us to fight the beast but not lose ourselves to it. We do what must be done while still controlling our own lives. Thank you Cheryl - I miss you. Lori(Travelling Gal)

Cheryl was the voice of Faith, Hope and Reason on the YSC online bc board, and every woman there is devastated by Cheryl's passing. We are also inspired to become better women because we knew Cheryl. May God bless you and keep you, Wendy (Braveheart at YSC)

Mom... Tomorrow marks 4 yrs and the saying 'time heals all wounds.' Well I still dont believe it is completely true. You are still very much so missed and remembered. This time of year is hard... all of these memories and milestones we are experiencing especially with the kids, are amazing but hard because they are not the same with out you here. I know you are watching over us until the day we meet again... I love you!

I think working to convert the old Bimbo's at James Center was my mother's (Dolly's) favorite interior design job ever because she got to work with Cheryl. My deepest sympathies, belatedly.
