David Dean “Snuffy” Smith 12/22/1946 – 7/24/2021 Snuffy passed away peacefully after spending a wonderful day surrounded with his family. His daughter Cindy, Son-in-law Jack and adopted (through love) granddaughter Anna was at his side when he crossed over. Snuffy had been ill for about a year, he was cared for at home by his daughter Cindy, granddaughter Jaci, Jaci’s boyfriend Chase and adopted granddaughter Anna. His daughter Robin was also able to come out for a short period of time and care for him as well. Snuffy was born in Peru, Indiana to William and Nora Smith. He is survived by his daughters and their husbands Cindy and Jack Farnsworth and Robin and Bernardo Trejo, brother Terry Smith, sister Jerrine Smith, grandkids – Joseph Wilson, Victoria Farnsworth, Jacinda Farnsworth, Christopher Beall, and Dawn Beall, and great grandchildren – Alex, Kimmy, Jr, and Zaylee. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Nora Smith, brothers Gary and Buck, sisters Sylvia and Wilma, his oldest daughter Kim Beall, and the love of his life and mother of his children Diana. Snuffy was a very giving, caring, independent and proud man. His passions included being on the computer and designing websites. He ran the “Golden Bears Den” website and many others for organizations such as his computer club, MRRCS, and the HOA he was a part of, as well as family and friends. He was also an avid remote control plane modeler. He loved to sit and build the huge airplanes and go out and fly them. He was a member of Mt. Rainier Radio Control Society and loved going out to the field to watch his friends fly their planes. He also loved to just jump in his vehicle and take road trips, sometimes across country from Washington to Indiana just to stop in and visit family. Snuffy served two stints in the US Army, the first one being in 1967 and going to Vietnam. He got out of the military for a few years and went back in and served another 7 years, taking his family to Georgia, Germany, Kentucky and finally landing at Ft. Lewis, Washington where he made his home after getting out of the Army. Snuffy – you will be missed by all who had the wonderful opportunity to pass through your life. We love you “Snuffy”, dad, papa, brother, uncle, and all the other names you were known by! You will be missed by many.
